Singing Sensations in concert at Kirk Ireton

On May 23rd, by kind invitation, children from Wirksworth Music Centre joined with pupils from the Kirk Ireton Primary School to perform in concert in the lovely old Holy Trinity Church.
The Singing Sensations choir, directed by Rachel Wilkes and accompanied by director Paul Hunter on piano, opened and closed the concert with some delightful songs and animated performances, in a variety of languages and genres, including one about Popocatepetl, depicting an eruption of this great volcano in Mexico, complete with actions!
Other pupils entertained the jam-packed audience with solos and duets on Guitar, Piano, Recorder, Saxophone, Trumpet and Violin. All so accomplished and continuing to grow in confidence from performing together in front of audience as soloists or in ensembles.
The evening gave such pleasure to friends and family with resounding applause showing much appreciation and joy so that the talented performers, beaming with delight, took a very grand and well-deserved bow.
