What We Offer

​Music Centre sessions during term time welcoming all school age musicians on Saturday mornings at Anthony Gell School and young singers on Tuesday evenings at Wirksworth Memorial Hall.

Young Music Makers

About Young Music Makers

The perfect introduction for budding young musicians to learn the basics of music through play with fun, games and laughter.

Recorders

Recorders come in a variety of shapes and sizes and have been around since the middle ages and their rich history cannot be ignored, used by Bach to Bowie and more…

Our groups offer the chance to enjoy playing these instruments to beginners to advanced levels.

Youth Choir

For all children in Years 3 to 8 who love to sing!

Learning songs from around the world while developing their voices and making new friends.

Strings

From Tasters to Beginners through to Juniors and Chamber Strings, these sessions range from fun and funky to traditional and classical for all ages and abilities.

Brass & Woodwind

From Training to Intermediate then Senior Wind Band, these sessions offer something for everyone, playing together while learning a variety of musical styles and genres.

Guitars and Ukuleles

About Us

Wirksworth Music Centre is a registered charity which believes that all young musicians should have the opportunity to play music with others. So, the costs are kept as low as possible, and the children’s spirits and sense of enjoyment are kept high!
