On Sunday 9 July we celebrated another fantastic year at Wirksworth Music Centre with a concert at Wirksworth Town Hall, for the first time ALL of our groups came together to perform in one HUGE bumper summer concert!
We all enjoyed a fabulous variety of ages, instruments and musical styles – from English folk songs, Gilbert & Sullivan medley, Suite from Carmen, a beautiful performance of ‘A Derbyshire Song’ by our Youth Choir, The White Stripes, Elgar, Beethoven, a piece written by our very own Nick Stacey during the Lockdown, outstanding solos from two of our most senior players and so much more, we couldn’t have asked for more from our amazing students and we really are so proud of them all!
Music Centre starts again after the summer break on Saturday 16 September for all instrumental groups and Tuesday 19 September for the Youth Choir – Singing Sensations.
