Two of our 2023 leavers recently visited children in seven primary schools in the Wirksworth area to talk to them about Wirksworth Music Centre.
Ruby and Amelia, two of Wirksworth Music Centre’s gifted young musicians arrived to inspire them to follow in their musical footsteps. They brought recorders, violin and cello and wowed the children with ‘Ashokan Farewell’ and Cold Play’s ‘Viva la Vida’. They also talked with the children about how they started playing and answered questions, urging them to follow that dream if they would love to play too.
Ruby and Amelia, aged 18, have now moved on to university but took time out of their busy preparations to visit the schools before they headed off to their respective university cities (you can read more about our 2023 leavers plans in a previous news post). They first came to Wirksworth Music Centre as small children 12 years ago. Playing music at the centre brought them together and they became lifelong friends. Music Centre is a great place to make friends while learning.
Since their visit there have been several enquiries from parents of children who can’t wait to come to Wirksworth Music Centre!
