I’ve always loved a wide variety of music, be it playing myself or listening to others.  Like many children of my generation I had the opportunity to learn recorders and join the choir at school.  When I was 11 my father asked if would like to learn to play the organ.  My parents would drive me to Derby every week to learn to play at the Yamaha Music School. I initially learnt within a group of nine others and had an amazing time playing a wide range of music.

Now my own children are learning to play instruments and are enjoying attending WMC.  I recently joined WMC as a Trustee as I strongly believe the joy of making music should be available to all and it is such a great organisation that needs supporting in our community.

I hope that I can bring my skills and experience to the role and help it continue to go from strength to strength in the years to come.
