John Parsons was born in Leicester & learnt cello from the age of 8. He studied at the RNCM, Manchester, gaining two diplomas, and now plays professionally for a number of well respected orchestras, quartets as well as taking solo engagements.

John started teaching when settled in Derbyshire, and brings a variety of life experience and empathy to his pedagogic ethos.

Since working for Music Centre, John has worked hard to help young talented musicians learn how to knit together musically and personally, and he firmly believes that music should be enjoyable, achievable and fulfilling, which he encourages with his Ensemble at Music Centre.
