After leaving secondary school I spent three years studying music performance at The University of Huddersfield and later at the Royal Northern College of music studying for a Masters degree, again, in performance under the tuition of world famous soloist Alan Hacker.

Since then I have worked as a professional woodwind player and conductor in many theatres and concert venues around the country.

I have been a tutor at Wirksworth Music Centre since 1998 and have spent many wonderful times producing amazing music with some brilliant students, many of who have stayed in touch to this day.

Playing ensemble music is the best part of learning to play an instrument and music centre is the only way of meeting like minded musicians who have the same interest. It is a fantastic platform making new friends from different schools and gaining confidence in performing as part of a team.
